Day 1 San Diego: Driving Forever & Marina

We listened to the Sunday session of Conference as we drove through the mountains & sand dunes. Ate all the Costco M&Ms. Tried to squash negative whining, wailing & gnashing of teeth from our oldest. It was the longest 6-hour drive... ever.

But we made it! First stop was In-n-Out for a late lunch. We took our burgers down to the marina across from the hotel we're staying at. We're at the Bay Club Hotel & Marina. There was a man barking like a sea lion from inside his a white van, it was covered in stickers. Lots of characters in San Diego these days.

The hotel's on a stretch of land called Shelter Island.  We took a walk along the water to enjoy all that beautiful blue water.
Gid cleaned his window during a gas stop.
Sea lions begging for scraps!
We spotted a little sting ray below our balcony!

The boys were pretty surprised this was a flower! Birds of paradise are so awesome looking.

After our walk we stopped at the beach just a few steps in front of our hotel.
Gid collected every shell he could find. He found a few little spiral shells.

We dropped Pretzel off at our friends' house. He's been biting lately. Hopefully he behaves himself.

Dave & I watched the boys and the boats. I like the sailboats. He likes the speed boats.
