Pioneer Day FHE and such

We watched Legacy and made homemade butter and homemade biscuits and talked about what it was like to be a pioneer and what pioneer day actually was. :) They boys had fun. Anything that has to do with making food? Yes.

Gid helped me mix the dough and then all the boys cut the biscuits out with tin cans. The biscuits are soooooo good! They're called Perfect Mile High Biscuits and they're everything the recipe says they are!

I also did pioneer celebration with my activity day girls. It was so fun. :) These rag dolls are so fun to make. A lot of work making the rags, but I had excellent helpers in that department!

So here's the doll I made to show the girls (i got the idea from http://www.restlessrisa.com/2014/07/rag-doll-no-sewing-required.html?m=1). PEOPLE ARE SO CLEVER!!!  My doll is named Rebecca, after my pioneer ancestor Rebecca Winters. I told the girls this story about her and then while we made the dolls they told their own family pioneer stories. It was so fun. :)

Owen made a list of things he wanted to do on pioneer day, and playing with a button yo-yo was one of them. :)
