Gideon's Baptism Day
We were so excited for Gideon to be baptized! He took this covenant very seriously. Reading his scriptures, prayers becoming more personal and unique, being kind to everyone, singing songs about baptism and doing his very best in primary classes.
The greatest gift really is family. We were so appreciative that so many could support Gideon on his special day!
Dave thanked Gideon for being obedient to his parents. He's always so quick to say "Okay Mom" or "Okay Dad" and help where he's needed. I love that he wants to make others happy and be of service. Aunt Tamara snuck this photo right before he was confirmed & received the Holy Ghost.
Recent changes in the Church now allow for any baptized member to be a witness at baptisms both in personal settings and in the temple during baptisms for the dead. Gideon chose Luke and Owen to be his witnesses when Dad baptized him. It was a very sweet experience seeing all the brothers involved.
We invited everyone over to our house afterwards. The day before, Dave and I had picked up cheesecake, pumpkin pie (Gid's favorite!), fruit and veggie platters and juice to share. Eric and his kids stayed and played until lunch time. We ordered a pizza and just enjoyed wonderful cousin time! We're so happy to live close to family again. Even if we don't get together as often as we'd like, when we do it's a treasure.
After everyone went home Owen wanted to learn how to crochet. He did a great job on his first chain! I had been crocheting a hat the entire time Eric and his kids were here. I get nervous energy in social settings, so it kept me calm and occupied.
