Gideon 8th Birthday!

He was awake bright and early as usual! He couldn't even wait for his french toast breakfast, he had to open his gifts first.

He got lots and lots and LOTS of Pokemon cards. Owen and Luke were super into the cards and know they're in trouble now that Gid has so many cards to battle with.

Gid requested chocolate cupcakes, so I made them that morning and let them cool while we were at the Primary Program practice. Talk about a busy day! When we got home he helped me decorate them. We mixed 3 different colors together in the piping bag to get this awesome swirled frosting!!

The boys played sports out in the grass. Owen helped me fill up water balloons earlier and the boys used them up fast! 

Gid helped me fill up the pinata. It was shaped like a video game controller. I took a video of Gideon busting it open and candy flying everywhere, but it turns out I pushed stop instead of record. nooooo! But you can imagine! It was amazing. :)

"You are the best ever!" Gifts and trading their pinata candies. Gid gave away all the chocolate and got as many fruity chewy treats as he could. 

What a sweet group of boys! I love how innocent and fun they are! They made monsters out of pool noodles and played around the house, on the trampoline, with toys, etc. It was a chill party, but we did everything Gideon had planned out and he was so happy to have his friends over.

Pretzel was pretty worn out too. :) We finished off the night with Gid's favorite meal, spaghetti and meatballs. Owen & Luke were laughing & Owen choked on a meatball. Dave had to do the heimlich on him.  Gid wanted to watch The Avengers, so that's what we did. We all went to bed tired and happy. Birthday success!
