Sedona Summer Day 6: West Fork, 5 Guys, Avengers End Game

Mom and Lolly drove up on Monday. The next day we went to West Fork, our favorite place in Sedona! We wandered through the ivy house ruins and then found the water and stayed all morning!

 Can you believe this jungle is in Arizona?! I'm learning to love this state more and more. :)

One guess who found the frog. ;) He was trying to give him a bug for lunch.

 And Gid is always first to find a walking stick. He's got an eye for the perfect one!

 Luke and Lolly found their thinking rocks.

 It was cicada season. They 'sang' all day long and were all over the trails. There were little holes in the dirt where they had emerged from hibernating.

 Grandma followed the boys down stream and they found this hidden spot with a natural slide! It was a little boys dream.

 Adventure Grandma did it too!

I thought this rock looked like Pride Rock. :)

Gideon and I went back to get our shoes from our original spot and he had to get his rock Hatchet that he found on Thunder Mountain.

Owen and Luke found another jungle gym to play on a little farther down.

 

Our Mowgli boys. ;) They both had GIANT holes in their shorts from sliding down the rocks. Luke had to tuck his shirt into the back of his shorts.

Owen brought me a daisy. :)

This dreamy bridge took us back to the parking lot. It was completely full and there was a line out to the road when we left. We came (and left) at the perfect time! Before all the crowds, and we were in such a quiet spot. It was the best.

Grandma and Lolly went back to the resort for lunch and naps and swimming. We drove up to Flagstaff for lunch at 5 Guys (BEST IDAHO POTATO FRIES EVER!!). We stopped at Walmart (again?!) to buy the boys new swim shorts. And then took Dave and Owen to FINALLY see Avengers Endgame! Nobody was in the theater, because we were really early, so Owen and I ran laps and did stair jumps, skips, high knees, etc around the theater until more people showed up. I was trying to work off that stinking milkshake. Stinking delicious!
