Anita Gorman Hike

Holy moly it's been a long time since we took a family hike!!! The boys and I have done this one before, but it was Dave's first time on the trail.

The whooly worms (as our neighbor Jackie calls them!) were racing across the path! We counted 38!
 Beauuuuuuuuuutiful red leaves!
 Another caterpillar that Owen found.

This guy's hair still looks red in certain light. :) He's so cute. He needs to be Ron Weasley for Halloween, yes?
So Luke thinks these are ostrich brains... he may be right.

THIS tree had all the colors of fall on it!!

Lukey got attacked by this sucker when he ran by. Dave and Owen were way ahead of Gideon and I. It was my fault, I kept stopping to take the pictures you see before you. YOU'RE WELCOME! ;) Anyway, Luke would run between Dave and I to tell us their location and such. Then he'd sprint to the other parent while watching his shadow to see just how totally awesome he looks while running!
The autumn fairies didn't finish their paint job on this one. :)
Dave had a snack, so we stopped after about a mile and a quarter to eat. The boys saw an eagle catch a fish so that was totally awesome.
  Back to the ostrich brain....

Luke, being the book worm that he is, brought a book on the trail so the boys took a break to read for a minute.

 ASU leaf!
 Luke found this spider web!
 Aaaaaaand now for the leaves!

And a snake. ;) I touched its tail a few times to get it to slither and it freaked the boys out! ha!

Skipping back to the car! ha ha haaaaaaa  Black mail FOREEEEEVER!!!
And we made it! The boys found their tootsie pop treasures awaiting them in our sweet ride. I actually just finished writing "Don't be jealous!" with a sharpie onto the tape holding our window up!  Embrace it.
