Nelson-Atkins Museum

I started to read a book called The Red Pyramid and the next day Dave took us down to visit the Nelson-Atkins Art Museum in downtown KC. Look at the first display we walked through! My book was all about Egypt and that's just what we were looking at. It was a fun coincidence. :)
That mummy was real. ew. But this falcon was rad.
 Ramses the II

We were told that about 5 years ago they wanted to build a sports related sculpture. So an artist went up into a helicopter and decided the building looked like a badminton net, so you'll find these birdies on either side of the museum.

There's a park across the street that we played at afterwards. :)

Dave and I want to come back together without the boys so we can really enjoy the art and not worry about herding the cats, I mean, kids. ;)

What an interesting place!! We went to the Ramsey exhibit in Provo w/ Mike and Jan when it was on a world tour. Very interesting times they lived in.... I'm just happy being your kids grand mom, and certainly never want to be a grandmummy!

You find the coolest places. And I gave up on the Red Pyramid. Meh.
