Wings Of Wonder

Last Thursday we went to the Kansas City Zoo for the morning. The boys have been wanting to see the bird show and we finally went on a day and time that it was showing. :) They actually have 2 daily shows, but it seems like we either just miss it or are on the other side of the zoo when it's going on. Do you like the way Gideon fits in the folding chair?!  

We saw the sea lion show before the birds and the boys liked that. Gideon got spooked when the sea lion came right up to where they were standing at the fence.

Meep Meep!  :) The road runner is my favorite part since they have trained it to run along the rail.

Behold, the spectacled owl. 

One of Dave's personal favorites, the peregrine falcon. It has an injured wing so it lives at the zoo. They keepers said they are rare to find in zoos, so it was a special treat to see one so close. Don't you love it's sound?!!  Awesome.

We went and saw the super cool poison frogs (Owen's favorite) and played on the playground after the show. It's great having a pass to this zoo. They have plans for a splash pad!! I hope they start on it soon, it's crazy hot out here with the humidity.
