Thanksgiving 2014... the next day!
The morning of our second Thanksgiving was Black Friday. We didn’t wake up early to rush the stores, I never have. But we did wake up early (as usual) and we hopped up to the canal behind our apartment to get a few pictures for our Christmas cards. It was a little chilly, but it only took a few minutes and BAM! done!
We’re going to go with these shots. ;) Handsome boys!!
Luke took the picture of Dave and I. That was the easiest family photo session EVER! :)
Owen and Gid and I went to Home Depot to get some spray paint for our kitchen chairs. It was NUTS, and we were there in the late morning. Still, we got in and out without much hassle. Then we went to Falcon Field Park for lunch and to play with the cousins s’more! Erin and Eric and Ryan and Sterling’s families got together for a few hours of fun. We think this should be a new Thanksgiving tradition. Play away all of those calories! So we had a great time and the boys played hard. I had rolls rising at home so I popped back to the apartment to get them ready to go to my mom’s house.
Mom always does a cute place setting.
Gideon goes straight to the sink with his truck that needed washing. He was there for a good long while. :) Do you see the rolls that ate Texas?? I didn’t realize they would rise so HUGE, so they were 2 for 1 rolls. I know for next time to cut them in half before I put them in the pan!!
When we arrived at Mom’s house, she had a craft table set outside for the kids to stay busy while we finished up the meal. Auntie Lolly helped them make the cutest turkeys!
Dave, the master turkey carver.
Gideon made me proud by eating the turkey leg. ;) that used to be my thing... the torch (shaped like a turkey leg) has been passed. Dinner was super delicious!! Mom and Lolly worked so hard to make it special! We had all the usual fixin’s and the BEST gravy EVER!!! Hallelujah for leftovers that are in my fridge right this minute waiting for round 2!!
Dave took Gideon out to the swing to sing him some Primary songs...and then tickle torture. :)
We then sat around Lolly while she showed us pictures from her cruise to Europe! Italy and France and Pompeii and Rome and Florence and Montenegro and Venise and Spain... so fun! The pictures were just ridiculous. Each one could be a post card. Gideon REALLY wanted to be first to see the pictures. ;)
Grammy and Owen snuck away to make whipped cream for the pies. The cream was flying out of the bowl, so Owen had the genius idea to hold his tongue out to catch the splatter. ;)
Gideon took the camera again! It keeps him out of trouble! Gobble Gobble Gobble!!
